Miss Universe Paraguay 2025 Yanina Gómez Trains in the Philippines
Current Miss Universe Paraguay, Yanina Gómez, has arrived in the Philippines for intensive training ahead of the Miss Universe 2025 competition. Previously, she competed at Miss World 2025 and placed among the Top 48 continental qualifiers, representing the Americas and Caribbean.
Why the Philippines?
Gómez explained her choice for training in the Philippines: “Because the Philippines is one of the powerhouses in Asia.” She highlighted the warmth and sincerity of Filipinos, and even joined the Trillion-Peso March on September 21 along EDSA.
Her Advocacy
A teacher and a lawyer by profession, Gómez champions her project Namopora Paraguay, which provides over 300 scholarships annually and aims to improve the standard of living for underserved communities.
“Given this platform to show my purpose as a beauty queen, it is both fulfilling and inspiring to be able to extend help,” she said.
Training Experience in the Philippines
The 27-year-old beauty queen will stay in the Philippines until October 11. She is undergoing intensive training with local experts, inspired by the country's reputation as a pageant powerhouse.
“Someone told me that I should come here in the Philippines because the best trainers, the best people, and everything is all here… And now I know why the best queens come from here because preparation is the most important thing,” Gómez said.
Social Project and Global Impact
Beyond the glitz, Gómez promotes her social project, Ñamoporã Paraguay, advocating for indigenous education, health access, and cultural empowerment. She intends to use her platform to spotlight global issues, including corruption and civic resistance.
“My goal especially is about my social project because this will make a difference for many people around the world… I will use the platform for the people,” she said.
First-Time Filipino Experience
Gómez expressed excitement to immerse herself in Filipino culture and take lessons of resilience and preparation back to Paraguay. “The people are so warm to me, so thank you so much,” she shared.
Upcoming Miss Universe Events
The 75th Miss Universe will be held in Puerto Rico in November 2026, following the 74th edition in Thailand on November 21, 2025. Representing the Philippines is Ahtisa Manalo, who won the Miss Universe Philippines 2025 crown earlier this year.
